MicroLaserPeel uses laser to remove a thin layer of damaged skin, encouraging the growth of collagen. This leads to improved skin texture and a more youthful appearance. After a laser peel, the thin layer of damaged skin will be removed and replaced with smooth, tight skin.
Superficial Skin Resurfacing – MicroLaserPeel®
An easy and effective way to restore healthy skin!
MicroLaserPeel is one of the newest advances in skin resurfacing which uses a special laser to address the conditions of your skin. The treatment removes a thin layer of damage skin to improve texture and achieve healthier looking skin. This innovative procedure provides superior results because it is individually tailored for each patient and can be administered with great precision. Most skin areas and skin types can be treated effectively. Popular treatment areas are face and neck, though some people also use it to improve skin conditions of the chest and hands.
The following conditions can be treated with MicroLaserPeel:
- Mild wrinkles
- Sun damage (e.g., freckles)
- Pigment irregularities
How it works?
The MicroLaserPeel laser vaporizes a thin layer of skin, removing damaged tissue and skin irregularities. Getting rid of this top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look. As the skin begins to heal, the result is vibrant looking skin with reduced wrinkles and improved skin evenness.
Your skin will be treated in the treatment area and your eyes will be fully protected with safety shields. Your physician will position the laser above the area to be treated and will hold it in place as the computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam around the skin. Excellent results can be obtained with just one 15-30 minute treatment, however the number of treatments needed may vary from patient to patient.
One of the primary advantages of MicroLaserPeel is that it’s virtually painless since it does not penetrate deep into the skin. For most patients, no anesthetic is needed at its shallow settings. A topical numbing cream is usually used for patients that require deeper settings.
After treatment, you will notice that your skin has a “frosty” appearance. This is dehydrated skin that will peel away within a few days after treatment. You may experience some skin redness as well as mild swelling. Your physician may give you skin care products and follow up instructions. Your skin will be sensitive after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sin exposure. Significant improvement in tone, texture, and evenness is noticeable just 3-4 days after treatment.
All targeted treatment areas will be cleaned, and topical numbing cream will be applied to alleviate any mild discomfort.
A blast of cool air to the treatment areas will further serve to soothe and anesthetize the skin.
The doctor will then hold the laser above the targeted areas while the computer-guided scanner moves the laser to gently remove a very thin layer of skin.
This laser will effectively remove tissue that’s old or damaged, leaving room for refreshed, new skin cells to reach the surface.
